Alexis and I had a great trip to Montreal - visiting friends and family, and getting to meet Florian for the first time.
It was also my initiation into the joys of canoe camping (although I did not have to deal with black flies) and the cabane a sucre.

After coming back from Montreal, we had a week in the Los Padres national forest. We had to change plans because of a closed access road and a freak storm, but had a great and beautiful trip nonetheless. It was our first trip using a tarp rather than a tent. We are happy to report that it holds up well in rain and wind, packs down to a tiny size and dries quite quickly. The one drawback is that without a floor, bugs can get in - we had a slight ant issue one night and I would definitely not use a tarp in places where I was worried about snakes and scorpions.
